1.  Who is your mentor and where do they work?  If their workplace does not reflect their expertise, what makes them an expert?
My mentor is Luis Viramontes and he works at Virtual Revelations, his own company. He is an independent contractor and he goes out and helps fix electronics for other companies. He is an expert in this field because he has created his own company. His expertise has helped him gain customers.
2.  What five questions will you ask them about their background?
  •  How long did you spend in school?
  • Was it difficult getting a bachelor's degree?
  • Were you known as a really good math person?
  • What made you want to become an Electronic Engineer?
  • Was math your best subject in school?

Blog 6 - Advisory Prep

1. What has worked well for you concerning senior project this year?  What has made it a positive experience for you?
What worked well for me this semester is the amount of information I have gathered. There is a ton of information out there that has helped me with my research checks. The interview has made a positive experience because it shows that there are a vast amounts of people out there working in this field. Neighbors, cousins and friends can be a potential important interviewee.
2. What are you finding difficult concerning senior project?  How can you adapt to make that portion work better for you?  How might the senior team help?
What I'm finding difficult is trying to contact people. I can adapt by making phone calls and emails to people who work in this field. The senior team might be able to help if they know anyone in the field. A phone number or an email would work just fine.

Blog 5 -Interview 1 Reflection

1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?  Is there anything I would do differently for other interviews?
The most important thing that I learned from this interview is to study my hardest. It may be hard but studying hard will help me excel in this field. What I would do differently is get a quieter background. A quiet background helps with the focus.
2. Did I get additional resources and contacts?  What is the most useful?  Why?
Yes, I was able to get resources and contacts. The most useful would have to be the information on the books. I say that it is because it will give me most of the information on the things I need to study.
3. What makes my interviewee qualified to help me?
My interviewee graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a bachelor's degree. He spent a long time studying and graduating to become a freelance electronics engineer.

During my senior project I hope to gain general knowledge in this field of engineering. I want to see what I'm capable of doing in this field. At the end of this project I would like to see if my general understanding has improved or not. Through this project I hope to understand more in detail what electronic engineers do while working. Whether its creating new technologies or repairing old ones. This project will be very exciting and hopefully in the end it will extend me pass my goal into the future.
